Composer/Arranger Biography

Scott Brasher, an award-winning songwriter, arranger and producer, has been playing piano since he was 4, and composing professionally since 1989. His passionate melodies and emotional orchestral scores have inspired audiences around the world by way of independent films, animated series and television commercials. Brasher is unique in that after he writes an orchestral arrangement, he meticulously crafts a master track using keyboards and samples.

His original theme can be heard on the award-winning 2004 short film "Winter: En Hiver," which he scored for Happy Trails Animation, located in Portland, Ore. The film earned numerous awards on the festival circuit, and was featured on Frontier Airlines’ in-flight programming.

His film work also includes music supervising the acclaimed 2003 Haynes/Geadelmann documentary "The Dance," which screened at numerous film festivals and earned praise in the pages of "Variety" and "The New York Times."

His commercial work includes original scores for numerous national and regional television and radio advertising campaigns, including Compaq Computers, KinderCare, Vanderbilt Medical Center and many more. His melodies can be heard on numerous animated children’s series produced by Hallmark Entertainment, Time Life and Sony Wonder, which continue to air on network television both domestically and abroad. An accomplished songwriter, he has earned honors for his compositions from the Gospel Music Association, ASCAP and Sony-ATV Tree Music Publishing.

Currently, Brasher is touring and recording with award-winning contemporary Christian artist Michael Card, with whom he is writing a lullaby record for release this fall. He also has begun work on the score for a documentary on the life of English naturalist and wildlife painter Mark Catesby, which will air on the BBC.
